Creature in the deep exhibition

Ice Age Mammals, set up in the museum's main upstairs gallery, shows the dramatic effects of environmental change over time, from four million to roughly 10,000 years ago. The High Arctic, four million years ago, was much warmer than today, with a boreal forest ecosystem similar to modern-day Labrador.

The exhibit allows people to explore themes of global challenges related to climate change and share the goals of sustainability in a non-traditional forum, shedding light on the natural environment of today through the lens of the past, according to museum officials.
